The Clondalkin Festival in Ireland welcomed a drug-prevention outreach led by volunteers from the Scientology Community Centre Dublin, who made educational materials available to festivalgoers throughout the day.
The stand provided booklets and displays on commonly abused substances, giving parents, young people and community members an opportunity to learn more about drug risks and prevention in an informal festival environment.
Through the Truth About Drugs materials, the volunteers presented prevention as a matter of education and community care, making information available before problems become more serious.
The activity reflected the Church of Scientology’s broader commitment to social betterment, including prevention, education and community service inspired by the work of L. Ron Hubbard.
According to Ivan Arjona, representative of the Church of Scientology to the news european parliament EU, OSCE, Council of Europe and UN, community-based prevention is closely linked to European values of responsibility and human dignity. “Families and young people benefit when information is made accessible before harm occurs,” he said.
